2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged: large yellow bird of prey, no relation to Big Bird

Sure, the nationwide rollout of the 2015 Ford F-150 has been exciting, and we’ve all been quite eager to try it out since we first heard about it a little less than a year ago. With the dust all but entirely settled as far as what the new F-150 is capable of doing, a single question has remained: so when is John Hennessey going to get his hands on it?

The answer, as it turns out, is now. The mad king of modifications is introducing the world to the 2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged, which fills the Raptor SVT-shaped hole in our hearts quite nicely.

Autonomous Breakthrough: See how Ford is breaking new ground with autonomous testing

“We’ve built over four-hundred VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged Ford trucks over the past four years,” said John Hennessey. “We are simply picking up where we left off with our 2015 VelociRaptor. Having Ford’s world-class new truck design, with a weight savings of nearly 700 pounds, our VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged will have an even greater level of performance and driving excitement!”

The 2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged takes the FX4 SuperCrew 5.0 V8 and adds a Roots-type supercharger for an additional 8 PSI of boost, high-flow air induction system, stainless-steel exhaust system, and revamped fuel injectors. The VelociRaptor will also wrap 17-inch Hennessey wheels in 33-inch BFGoodrich tires, be offered with customizable features including upgraded bumpers and Brembo brakes, and come with a standard 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.

Hennessey only plans on building 500 units at a starting price of $73,500, so those wanting their own VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged might want to act fast and start saving up. Hennessey also says that there will be an upgrade package available for F-150s equipped with the EcoBoost powertrain, but offered no further details.

It will be interesting to see how the 2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged will stack up with the next-gen F-150 Raptor, which is scheduled to debut under the newly-christened Ford Performance banner in Detroit next month.
