2015 Honda Fit

The Honda Fit returns fully redesigned after last year’s hiatus. Some highlights include improved fuel economy, more interior space and new safety features and technology.

The Fit’s distinctive wedge hatchback shape remains, but this year, we see a more grown-up version. The 2015 Honda Fit sees a new grille and headlight design, LED taillights and available 16-inch wheels, which follow Honda’s style language. The body length shrinks a bit this year, but the wheels are set farther apart, making the 2015 Fit wider.

The Honda Fit comes standard with a 1.5-liter, four cylinder engine which generates 130 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque.A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the LX and EX models, and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is optional. Top-of-the-line EX-L models are only available with the CVT.

The manual transmission returns an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined. Models with CVT get 32 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 35 mpg combined. The entry-level LX is an exception, getting 33 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined, it achieves the best fuel economy of the lineup.

The new Honda Fit has taken a big step in the right direction inside the cabin, with an updated design and modern features that more closely mirrors those of the Accord and Civic. The interior is roomier than ever before, with the ability to comfortably seat two full grown adults or two car seats.

Particularly exciting is Honda’s 60/40 “Magic” rear seat, which allows users to flip up the rear seat bottoms to create a narrow, floor-to-roof space to accommodate taller items, something competitors do not provide. This extra space creates a useable space for dogs, camping gear, or even bikes.

The 2015 Honda Fit comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, side curtain airbags, front side airbags, and active head restraints. The new LaneWatch blind-spot system (available on the EX and EX-L trims), instantly switches the 7-inch infotainment screen’s display to show the passenger side blind spot when the right turn signal is engaged.
