The Lincoln MKC and Essence magazine partnered up for Essence Magazine’s 7th annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon, an event that celebrates and recognizes the outstanding achievements of the most inspiring and impactful women of Hollywood.

The Lincoln Motor Company celebrated its fifth year of involvement with the luncheon this year by featuring its first small premium utility vehicle, the MKC, and the “Shine Like A Star” contest on ESSENCE.com. The winner received a VIP trip to L.A. including a make-over, dinner at an L.A. hot spot, and attendance to the Black Women in Hollywood luncheon as Lincoln’s exclusive guest.

The Lincoln MKC was first revealed late last year in New York City, and is expected to be available late this year. According to a news release from Lincoln, the MKC introduces Lincoln Experiences, including Approach Detection technology and an embedded modem that enables the MyLincoln Mobile® app. We can expect a fully turbocharged engine lineup and available features such as: active park assist with Park Out Assist, Deepsoft Bridge of Weir leather, Vista Roof®, 19-inch wheels, voice-activated navigation, enhanced THX II audio, hands-free liftgate and other driver-assist technologies.

For the event, Lincoln teamed with TV host and social media personality Bevy Smith at the pre-event Lincoln Blogger Bar, where attendees were also able to find the 2015 MKC. During the event, Lincoln’s MKZ provided transportation for event VIPs and honorees.

Of course, for all of the 2015 MKC’s efforts, it couldn’t steal the show away from a beautiful speech given by newly-minted Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong’o.

We are proud to see Lincoln supporting such a great cause. What do you think about the Lincoln MKC and Essence Magazine pairing up?
