2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Overview

What’s New for the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander?

The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander gets additional toys including FUSE hands-free linked audio with USB/iPod interface, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and leather-wrapped luxury.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Exterior

Mitsubishi tends to make very aggressive-looking, stylistically unique cars. The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander is a bit unlike the average Mitsubishi in that sense, and whether that makes it a good or bad thing can vary. The Outlander is less angular but curvier—some would call it more vanilla, which makes it less polarizing. It’ll attract more customers, but could alienate a few die-hard Mitsubishi fans.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Performance

Call it what you like, the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander is not one to shirk its duties when it comes to performance. ES and SE models will come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder producing 166 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The GT model uses a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 224 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. Either way, plenty enough power to carry the family and then some. All Outlanders are equipped with a CVT automatic transmission, or a six-speed automatic on the V6.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Efficiency

The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander is remarkably efficient compared to its family-carrying peers. When equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder, it’ll get 25 mpg city/31 mpg highway with front-wheel drive and 24/29 with all-wheel drive. The V6 will get 20/28.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Interior

The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander features seven-passenger seating, though the smaller third row is best suited for children. The Outlander is an adequate three-row vehicle but gets even better when that third row is folded down to create a respectable 63 cubic feet of room. The dash and controls up front are clean and simple, but they’re also just that: simple. It’s not the most expensive cabin but then again, neither is the price tag, and it does the work.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Safety

Though the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander’s advanced safety features may make you forget that it isn’t a luxury SUV. It comes with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance, on top of all of the other safety standards like antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front and rear head airbags, and dual front side-mounted airbags.
