2015 Navigator Earns Five Stars from NHTSA

2015 Lincoln Navigator

Lincoln has announced that the 2015 Navigator has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s five-star Overall Vehicle Score after performing well in testing administered as part of the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).

“The 2015 Navigator combines the highest possible safety rating from the federal government with a fresh interpretation of the classic full-size luxury sport utility vehicle,” said Steve Kenner, global director, Ford Automotive Safety Office. “From its more refined appearance and luxurious interior appointments to its advanced safety systems and driver-assist features, the 2015 Navigator is what our customers asked for.”

NHTSA tested both the 4×2 and 4×4 Navigator, as well as the both the 4×2 and 4×4 Navigator Extended. All models earned five stars in the frontal crash and side crash tests. Both 4×2 models earned three stars in the rollover test with a predicted 21.2% chance for a rollover, and both 4×4 models received four stars for a 19.8% chance of rollover.

Standard safety features for the 2015 Navigator include AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™, which was likely a major factor in passing the rollover segment of NCAP, as well as side-impact airbags, Safety Canopy® System, SOS Post-Crash Alert System™, LATCH system, Blind Spot Information System, and backup camera.
