The all-new 2015 Ram Heavy Duty trucks launch this week and carry a truck bed full of accolades and distinctions. The pickups not only boast best-in-class power but also best-in-class towing capacity and payload capacity.

In particular, the 2015 Ram 3500 delivers 865 lb-ft of torque matched with a payload of 7,390 pounds and a maximum tow rating of 30,000 pounds. It is important to note too that Ram is the only automaker to adopt the new SAE J2907 towing standards on all its pickups.

“Ram maintains leadership throughout its pickup line by offering best-in-class fuel efficiency with our Ram 1500 EcoDiesel at 28 MPG, best-in-class towing at 30,000 pounds, best-in-class power at 865 lb.-ft. and best-in-class payload at 7,390 pounds with our Ram 3500,” said Bob Hegbloom, Head of Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Ram owns best-in-class attributes in the areas that are most important to truck customers.”\

The 2015 Ram Heavy Duty trucks are offered with an array of powertrains, all of them meticulously crafted for optimal performance. The 6.4-liter HEMI V8 delivers best-in-class horsepower (410 hp) and best-in-class torque (429 lb-ft) among trucks with gas engines. A second engine option is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which is standard for the 2500 and 3500 and throws down 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The top-of-the-line 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 is offered in three variants: the first with a six-speed manual (350 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque), the second with a six-speed automatic (370 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque), and the third is with the Aisin six-speed automatic (385 hp and 865 lb-ft of torque).

Ram has driven innovation in the heavy duty segments and intelligently engineered a better truck than our competitors, including a 30,000 pound towing monster,” said Mike Cairns, Director, Ram Truck Engineering, Chrysler Group LLC. “Our 2015 Ram Heavy Duty Trucks own all three relevant titles in the segment: towing, payload and power, while delivering an impressive level of comfort and features unavailable elsewhere in the market.”

The 2015 Ram Heavy Duty trucks, the 2500 and 3500, are built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Mexico.
