GMC’s October 2014 sales benefited most greatly from sales of the GMC Sierra, as usual. Retail sales for the brand rose 6% over October of 2013, while sales of the Sierra specifically shot up 12% over October of last year. This marks the best October that the brand has seen since 2007.

While GMC had its best October since 2007, the Sierra in particular had its best October since 2001. In total, GMC moved 18,564 units of the Sierra last month. Sales of the Sierra in the first 10 months of this year are up 9% over the same time period last year.

And it’s not just the Sierra 1500 that is generating all the excitement. The Heavy Duty models are faring quite nicely as well. The 2500HD and 3500HD models accounted for 27% of the Sierra’s retail sales in October of this year, moving up a whole 5 percentage points over September of 2014. The Denali line is seeing growth as well. So far this year, Denali models have accounted for 14% of all Sierras sold.

Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president of GMC, commented on the company’s sales: “Given the unrivaled breadth of our pickup portfolio, it isn’t surprising to see GMC pickups gained popularity last month. From Canyon to Sierra HD, along with the distinctive Denali and All-Terrain model lines, we’re able to offer customers a pickup that’s tailored to their needs.”
