2015 SRT Hellcat is the Most Powerful Challenger Ever
The auto industry is full of superlatives, so it takes quite a bit for something to make your ears prick up. Say, for example, someone starts throwing around the phrase “most powerful Challenger ever.” Yeah, you’re likely going to start paying attention, which is exactly what the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has done. More to the point, we are standing rapt at attention and throwing wads of dollar bills at our monitors, much to the pleasure of our custodial staff.
Is the 2015 SRT Hellcat the most powerful Challenger ever? Yep. By, like, a country mile.
2015 SRT Hellcat – The Most Powerful Challenger Ever
The 2015 Dodge Challgner SRT Hellcat is powered by an all-new supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® V8. Its output: 600-plus horsepower. Yeah, we know, we told the press release to shut up and stop being ridiculous, too. It didn’t respond, however, because: (1) it’s a factual statement; (2) press releases don’t respond to verbal commands.
The HEMI Hellcat is the first instance of Dodge and SRT supercharging a V8, and it will feature a forged-steel crankshaft, forged-alloy pistons, and aluminum-alloy cylinder heads.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat will feature standard SRT-exclusive “Slingshot” split-seven spoke 20 x 9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with matte black finish, forged-aluminum wheels with a Brass Monkey/dark bronze finish will also be available exclusively for the SRT Hellcat.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will also offer the largest front-brake package ever offered on an SRT model. The Hellcat gets all-new 15.4” Brembo two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers, and will feature have ABS, ESC, and traction control systems.

Perhaps one of the most badass features of all with the SRT Hellcat is, surprisingly, the keyfob. Yeah, we said it. The Hellcat comes standard with two key fobs – one red and one black. The red key fob allows drivers to access the full capabilities of the Hellcat; the black keyfob, perfect for overly-trusting parents, limits engine output.
Production on the most powerful Challenger ever will begin at the Brampton, Ontario Assembly plant in Q3 2014. Until then, we’ll just keep shouting and throwing dollar bills at our screens until somebody tells us to go home.
