Sales of sedans are sliding across the industry as more consumers are turning to crossovers and pickup trucks. For those who generally prefer four-door cars, this means an increased likelihood of more savings to come. For those who have been considering the Buick Regal GS, for example, it has been revealed that the 2016 model will carry a price that is $3,320 cheaper.

According to Edmunds.com, GM informed them on Thursday that the price of the 2016 Buick Regal GS will total $34,990, including the $925 destination fee. This makes it considerably attractive to those who had considered the 2015 Regal GS but considered its $38,310 MSRP (including destination fee) a bit too high.

According to Buick spokesman Nick Richards, who spoke with Edmunds.com via telephone, the brand “wanted to make sure that Regal remains on shoppers’ minds” as the market continues to trend toward crossovers. He also noted that the price reduction does not reflect any loss of standard equipment.

The 2016 Regal base model is the same as the 2015 model at $27,990, including destination. The 2016 Regal 1SL starts $1,000 cheaper at $29,915 (including destination), and the 2016 Regal 1SP is $2,535 cheaper at $32,490 (including destination).

Buick is not offering the Regal 1SN trim for the 2016 model year. Pricing for the newly-announced 2016 Regal Sport Touring has yet to be revealed.
