For the fourth year in a row, the Buick Verano has earned a 5-Year Cost to Own Award from Kelley Blue Book in the Entry-Level Luxury Car category.

Each year, KBB.com analysts conduct extensive research to determine the projected cash amount necessary to own each car available in the US for a five-year stretch. The analysts reflect on factors such as projected depreciation, scheduled maintenance, repairs, anticipated fuel costs, state fees, insurance, financing, and purchase price.

The base 1SV model of the 2016 Buick Verano features a starting MSRP of $21,065. The Verano is a four-door compact sedan that’s available in five unique trims, which obviously rise in cost the higher up in trim level a buyer chooses to go.

The ’16 Verano comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission, which produce 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. For those who need a little bit more snap and pizzazz, the Verano is also available with a 2.0-liter turbo DOHC engine good for 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

The Buick Verano also boasts an impressive list of standard tech features, including OnStar with LTE and Built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-zone climate control, and keyless remote entry. A Bose audio system, navigation, and SiriusXM Satellite radio are available on higher trims.

The 5-year projected cost to own a 2016 Buick Verano is $40,092, according to Kelley Blue Book.
