2016 Chevrolet Silverado is Fort Wayne Assembly’s 7 Millionth Truck
General Motors Fort Wayne Assembly celebrated a milestone accomplishment last week with the construction of its 7 millionth pickup truck—a blue double-cab 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. To help commemorate the occasion, Chevrolet invited its owner—Lee Adams of Goshen, Indiana’s Tri-State Compressed Air—to contribute to its journey down the assembly line.
Adams has been a Chevrolet customer since 1982, having purchased more than 50 trucks and vans for his business’ fleet in the 30+ years since. The new Silverado will join Tri-State Compressed Air’s sales force, and it will carry with it the unique distinction of being a truck of historical significance.
Thad Naquin, owner of Tom Naquin Chevrolet, and associates Greg Fink and Tracy McDonald joined Chevrolet district manager Bedria Purifoy in accompanying Adams on a tour of Fort Wayne Assembly. Adams also visited with plant employees, where he was accompanied by members of UAW Local 2209.
General Motors recently announced an ongoing $1.2 billion investment at Fort Wayne Assembly. The plant is responsible for the production of both the Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierra pickups.
