SUV customers in the Middle East now have a new option that offers them a harmonious combination of safety, style, and sophistication: the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Captiva. The Captiva was made available at dealerships across the country late last month, and it brings to the table Chevrolet’s trademark look and a bevy of advanced technologies.

Aimed in particular at young professionals, the new Captiva features Chevrolet MyLink infotainment technology for the purposes of smartphone connectivity. Captiva’s most prominent technologies are devoted to safety, and they include Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, both of which are new to the region. Both technologies utilize radar sensors located within the rear bumper to notify the driver about obstacles in their blind spots.

Additional safety technologies offered with the 2016 Captiva include Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Traction Control System, Active Rollover Protection, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Control.

The Captiva will be offered in three new exterior hues that include Sun of a Gun Gray Metallic, Old Blue Eyes Metallic, and Burn Coconut Metallic. Additional aesthetic improvements include an updated front fascia that features smaller headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps and a new grille, as well as a refreshed lower rear fascia with chrome exhaust tips and LED taillamps.

The Captiva will be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that will generate 167 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, and will be the segment’s only E85-capable offering.
