The 2016 Chevy Impala is now available for pre-ordering in Korea

Today, Chevrolet announced that it has begun taking pre-orders for the Chevy Impala in South Korea, marking the first time that the American automaker has introduced a full-size sedan to the Korean domestic market.

The Korean-market Chevy Impala is assembled stateside at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant.

“We are thrilled to have the iconic flagship sedan complete Chevrolet’s passenger car portfolio in Korea,” said GM Korea CEO and President Sergio Rocha. “We are confident that its bold styling, comfort, safety, powerful performance and technology will make it a leader in the highly competitive upper-medium sedan segment.”

Korean car customers will be able to choose between two different powertrain options for the Impala, including a 2.5-liter SIDI L4 engine and a 3.6-liter SIDI V6 engine. There will also be some Chevy Impala convenience features exclusive to the Korean market: power folding slide mirrors, an electronic toll collecting system, rain-sensing wipers, fuel-fill cap locking, a unique cluster, a unique antenna, standard navigation, a 220V power outlet, rear audio controls, and rear heated seats.

In addition, the 2016 Chevy Impala will feature Apple CarPlay capability that Chevrolet is so hot on at the moment, which syncs the driver’s iPhone to the vehicle’s display. Hopefully all of the Millennials in South Korea are just as infatuated with #emojis as us young Americans.
