Canadians looking for a small car that offers a large degree of versatility for very little cost will now want to give extra consideration to the 2016 Chevrolet Spark. Chevy announced at the Montreal International Auto Show that the new Spark will be offered at a starting MSRP of $9,995 (plus freight fees), making it the most affordable vehicle in Canada.

Even with a sub-$10,000 starting cost, the 2016 Spark comes standard with amenities that one would expect from a significantly more expensive vehicle. Standard features include a 7-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities and OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.

“The new Spark offers Canadians incredibly advanced technology and connectivity features, outstanding fuel efficiency, and greater safety technology than any other mini car out there, all for an incredible value” said Nicolas Longpré, assistant brand manager for Chevrolet. “Spark keeps its owners connected with standard onboard Wi-Fi connectivity and is the first vehicle in the segment to offer both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility—all of these standard features add up to make Spark the Ultimate Mobile Device.”

According to Chevrolet, 35% of all Spark buyers are purchasing their first new vehicle, and 45% are first-time Chevrolet owners.

The starting price for the Spark in the United States is listed at $13,535, including $875 destination fee.
