Pro Trailer Backup Assist wins CES Innovation Award

Ford’s aims to improve upon even a brand-new formula with its 2016 F-150 sees the debut of Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, a technology that makes reversing with an attached trailer as simple as turning a knob. So impressive is this addition that it was named a 2016 Best of Innovations Awards Honoree in the category of Vehicle Intelligence.

More New Features for the 2016 F-150: Clean Natural Gas/Propane conversion kits now optional

Pro Trailer Backup Assist earned this award at the recent Consumer Electronics Show, where it was so named by the Consumer Technology Association. The CES Innovations Awards are determined by a panel of designers, engineers, and members of the media, all of whom vote based upon caveats including aesthetic and functionality.

“We’re honored to be named Best of Innovation among such a strong field of competitors,” said Raj Nair, Ford Group Vice President Global Product Development and Chief Technical Officer. “Pro Trailer Backup Assist is another example of Ford leveraging new technology to make every-day driving tasks easier.”

In addition to Pro Trailer Backup Assist, the new 2016 F-150 will add SYNC 3, a new Limited Trim, a CNG/Propane option, and a Special Edition Package for XLT and Lariat models.
