To earn Top Safety Pick+ distinction, the 2016 Fiat 500x had to earn good ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests, as well as receive an acceptable rating in the intricate front overlap test. Additionally, to earn Top Safety Pick+ honors the vehicle must feature some type of crash prevention system worthy of an advanced or superior rating.

The 2016 Fiat 500X comes available with a Forward Collision Warning Plus system, which automatically causes the car to commence braking if its camera and radar system determine a frontal crash is looming. The Forward Collision Warning Plus System is featured on the Easy, Trekking, Lounge, and Trekking Plus trims of the 2016 Fiat 500X.

The 2016 Fiat 500X comes standard with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine good for 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Upper level trims feature a more powerful 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. In addition, the 2016 Fiat 500X is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The 2016 Fiat 500X hasn’t undergone government testing so far for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
