2016 Ford Explorer wins 2016 Middel East Car of the Year Award for Midsize SUVs

The new 2016 Ford Explorer has been announced as the winner of the Middle East Car of the Year Award in the category of midsize SUV. In taking home the top honor in its highly-competitive segment, the new and improved Explorer solidifies its claim as being a worthy entry in a lineage that has satisfied more than seven million customers around the world over more than 25 years.

The annual Middle East Car of the Year Awards were voted upon by a panel of 12 automotive experts from across the Gulf Cooperation Council and Levant countries. In 2015, the Explorer possessed a 40% share of its segment, and it has thus far topped the segment again through the first quarter of 2016.

“We are pleased with this recognition for the 2016 Ford Explorer,” said Thierry Sabbagh, managing director of Ford Middle East. “Explorer set the standard for Sport Utility Vehicles when it was first introduced in the ‘90s, and it continues to build on its heritage as the mid-size SUV leader with outstanding Built Ford Tough capability, technology, convenience and comfort.”

It’s time to celebrate! #Ford #Explorer just won @mecoty  award for the best Mid Size SUV!
