2016 Honda Civic Coupe

Today Honda announced that the coupe variant of the new tenth-generation Honda Civic will hit US dealerships on March 15th, with a starting MSRP of $19,050 for the Civic LX Coupe with manual transmission. The highest trim level, the Civic Touring model, is priced at $26,125.

The critical and commercial success of the 2016 Civic Sedan bodes well for the coupe, which includes many of the same features but in a two-door body style.

There are three different powertrain options available with the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe: a 174-horsepower 1.5-liter DOHC turbo engine with a continuously variable transmission, or CVT (EX trim and above); a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter i-VTEC with CVT (LX and LX-P); and the same 2.0-liter engine paired with a six-speed manual (on the base LX trim).

With the exception of the manual LX model, most trims achieve about 31 mpg in city driving, 41 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined. Official EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for each trim and powertrain configuration can be viewed below.

Honda is also touting the vehicle’s roomy and redesigned interior, sophisticated chassis, and available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

“This new Civic Coupe exemplifies Honda’s focus on fun-to-drive character with two powerful engine options and a chassis tuned specifically for driving fun,” said Honda executive Jeff Conrad. “As the second model in our sportiest and most ambitious Civic lineup ever, the coupe sets the bar for performance, refinement and connectivity in the compact coupe segment.”

Honda also announced today that it will roll out a new website design on March 15th, the same day the coupe goes on sale. The “one page vehicle experience” design will be compatible with mobile devices and will be introduced initially on the Civic, but eventually pages for all Honda models will be upgraded.
