The all-new, 10th-generation 2016 Honda Civic Sedan is set for two big, simultaneous premieres in Detroit and Los Angeles next week. You can watch the LA reveal live on YouTube on Wednesday,  September 16th at 6:15 pm PDT… or you can just look at these spy shots that were taken in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and posted to the online forum Civicx.com:

Unsurprisingly (but happily), the production model looks awfully similar to the Civic Coupe concept that debuted in April at the New York International Auto Show. It’s certainly gone in a sportier direction, which should play well with the Civic’s sizeable Millennial demographic.

This is the first Civic redesign in four years. Honda has stated that the new model will be available as a Sedan, Coupe, and for the first time in the US, a 5-door Hatchback. Performance enthusiasts are eager to see the Si and, most importantly, Type R versions of the new model, as well.

We’re not sure why this completely undisguised car was parked on Fifth Avenue in Ann Arbor, Michigan, other than Newton’s First Law of Car Leaks, which states that an object under wraps will stay under wraps, until about seven days before its big debut, at which point grainy photos are going to start showing up on online forums.

Hopefully we’re not too far away from seeing some sneak peeks of the American Type R…
