After a strong showing last year, the third-generation Honda Fit is back with a new model that’s hitting dealerships nationwide tomorrow, July 1, 2015. The 2016 Honda Fit will carry a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $15,790, not including an $820 destination charge.

The midrange 2016 Honda Fit EX with a continuously variable transmission will start at $18,500, while the top-of-the-line 2016 Honda Fit EX-L with a CVT and navigation system will carry an MSRP of $21,065.

All of those prices represent a $140 increase over the cost of a 2015 Honda Fit, and the modest price increase represents the fact that there doesn’t appear to be much new for the 2016 model. However, Honda is confident that the sales success and positive critical reception that the 2015 Fit enjoyed will propel sales of the largely unchanged 2016 model.

“The new Fit has been a tremendous hit with buyers seeking a fun, practical and stylish transportation solution,” said Senior Vice President and General Manager of Honda Jeff Conrad. “It’s a satisfying car for a wide variety of needs and lifestyles.”

The 2016 Honda Fit carries over its predecessor’s best-in-class passenger and cargo space and 41 mpg highway fuel economy, provided by the car’s standard Earth Dreams Technology direct-injection 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine.
