The much-anticipated 2016 Lincoln MKX is arriving at dealerships around America even as you read this, which can mean only one thing: it’s time for Lincoln to remind you of all the ways it fancied up its latest crossover effort.

The 2016 MKX is touted as a perfect fusion of form and function, and Lincoln’s press release pulls in some statistic about rich people from the Luxury Institute and Epsilon. Neat!

“Craftsmanship sits between the worlds of engineering and design,” said Stacy Swank, Lincoln craftsmanship supervisor. “Our role is to bring those worlds together to enhance the experience for the customer. We like to think that if you don’t notice what’s been done, then we’ve done our job.”

While the new MKX will feature noticeable upgrades including available Bridge of Weir® Deepsoft leather, hand-sewn and -stitched Wollsdorf® leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a redesigned center console, Lincoln promotes a number of “hidden” advancements, including:

  • Foam added to the wrapped console side panels, door armrests, and steering wheel
  • Strengthened dead-pedal area for improved firmness
  • Stainless-steel scuff material in the doors and tailgates

Oh boy! The fancy new MKX is available for order now, so if you appreciate luxury and engineering and craftsmanship and swankiness and buzzwords, check it out.
