The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is the perfect value-oriented vehicle for those consumers who love the outdoors

If you are an active person, your vehicle has to have some very specific features to fit your lifestyle. Not only does it have to be able to handle off-road conditions, but it also has to be relatively inexpensive so it’s easier to afford the equipment for your various outdoor pursuits.

According to the 12th annual Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards held in Chandler Arizona earlier this week, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is the perfect vehicle for the outdoorsy type. The popular crossover earned the Best Value on the Road award, adding yet another trophy to its trophy shelf.

“It’s exciting to see the 2016 Outlander resonate so well among this group of active people,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “We’ve positioned this vehicle to be both versatile and a good value, so to see the car recognized as such supports our objective to give consumers what they want in a CUV.”

The Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards recognize cars and trucks that are perfect for those consumers with active lifestyles. These awards allow carmakers to gain a better understanding of these consumers’ needs. During the two-day event, judges tested each vehicle on a variety of courses, scrutinizing the vehicles for their livability features, including seating, cargo capability, and versatility.

Contenders for the Best Value award were all priced under $35,000 and came equipped with features that help with an outdoor lifestyle, including all-wheel control, antilock brakes, side airbags, and electronic stability control.

These features are highlighted throughout the 2016 Outlander, thanks to its renowned Super All-Wheel Control system.
