2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Earns NEMPA Yankee Value Award—Again
Mitsubishi is going to the yanks—quite literally. The Japanese automaker recently announced that the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport was recognized by the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA) as the Yankee Value Award winner of the year. This is the second time in a row that the Outlander Sport has come out on top in this prestigious award.
“Outlander Sport continues to prove why it’s our sales leader,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and Chief Operation Officer of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Reliability, quality, competitive pricing, and cost of ownership are at the core of Outlander Sport; to be recognized for providing exemplary value in such a competitive CUV segment proves Mitsubishi is providing customers with what they not only want, but need.”
To earn the Yankee Value Award, a vehicle must exemplify the hardy New England spirit of understated perseverance, something that NEMPA takes very seriously. All contenders for this award must impress the judges as a value proposition—and the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport easily does this. With a variety of features that will impress even the stingiest consumer, plus a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty—one of the best in the business—the Outlander Sport easily comes out on top as one of the most value-oriented models in the competitive crossover segment.
The award was given during NEMPA’s annual awards dinner in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During this banquet, all award recipients for the 2016 Winter Vehicle Awards were honored.
