The 2016 Prius will star in Toyota’s 2016 Super Bowl commercial

Every year, sports fans gather for the biggest day of the year in football—the Super Bowl. But football isn’t the only big draw to this annual tournament. In addition to the excitement of the sports, viewers can also look forward to the star-studded half-time show, as well as the most expensive commercial break of the entire year.

Going Green: Toyota is committed to green mobility

For Super Bowl 50 on February 7th, Toyota will show off the all-new fourth-generation Prius in a 60-second spot that will air during the big game. The new Prius, which was just released for sale in the US, offers increased fuel economy (up to 58 mpg city in the Two Eco model), state-of-the-art safety features, new sporty styling, and a luxurious interior. Even the base Two model offers things like heated side mirrors and push button start.

The announcement comes in the form of a rather odd press release which concludes by saying, “So what did you expect? You don’t run ads for a car like this as some late night infomercial. No, you go to the biggest stage, where more than 100 million people can gather round, wide-eyed and drop-jawed in between scoops of guacamole dip.”

Yes. Guacamole. See, Toyota knows football fans. Hopefully the automaker knows that guacamole always costs extra.
