2016 Scion iA and iM On Sale Right Now
After months of waiting and watching, Scion has finally released two completely new models for sale—the 2016 iA sedan and iM hatchback. With a starting MSRP of just $15,700 for the iA and $18,460 for the iM, these are two affordable back-to-school cars that are sure to be hits for the automaker.
Sales of the two models began today, so if you’ve been holding out on your new car purchase until you can test out these babies, you’d better hot-foot it to your nearest Scion dealership, stat.
“With the arrival of the iM and the iA in showrooms, Scion’s evolution moves from talk into reality,” commented Doug Murtha, Scion group vice president. “This new, savvy generation of drivers will find these cars have the features, space and styling to meet whatever challenge or opportunity comes their way.”
The Scion iA comes packed with features like chrome grille surround, push-button start, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system. The sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter engine good for 106 horsepower, and carries an EPA-estimated 42 mpg on the highway.
The Scion iM boasts a hexagon lower grille, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and a 7-inch Pioneer Display Auto unit with HD Radio and Aha. This stylish yet affordable hatchback houses a 1.8-liter engine under its hood that’s good for 137 horsepower, and returns 37 mpg on the highway.
Both vehicles are offered with Scion’s no-haggle Pure Price, which means that the price listed at the dealership is the price you’ll pay—no negotiations required.
The Scion iA and Scion iM join the automaker’s two existing vehicles—the sporty FR-S and the tC coupe—to bring a complete selection of affordable yet high-tech cars to the next generation of drivers.
