New Volt and EV expected in 2016The year 2016 looks like it will be the year of the electric car for the Chevrolet brand, moving the American carmaker towards a more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient lineup. With the recent announcement that GM might be releasing the next generation Chevrolet Volt, along with a brand new, never before seen electric vehicle, Chevy’s focus on electric options is becoming more and more apparent.

While the updated Volt will see a few minor changes to its exterior, alongside a price reduction to around $30,000 (hello, savings!) the real focus will be on the newest EV. Expected to go toe-to-toe with Tesla, the EV will probably have a 200-mile all-electric range and a similar price to that of the new Volt. Unlike the current Chevrolet Spark EV, which is only available in California and Oregon, this new model could be available in all 50 states and is expected to launch in 2016 as either a 2016 or 2017 model.

What are your thoughts on the new Volt and EV from Chevrolet?
