2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid

The 2017 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD goes on sale tomorrow at Acura dealerships, carrying with it 377 horsepower, a three-motor Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, and a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) that starts at $59,950.

Adding the Advance Package brings the total up to $65,950.

The vehicle represents the most powerful and technologically advanced Acura sedan in history, and its SH-AWD system is a brand-exclusive technology also found in the new Acura NSX supercar. Additionally, the new model can claim the most spacious five-passenger seating in its class.

The direct-injected, 310-horsepower V6 engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and combines with a built-in motor-generator powering the front wheels and two rear electric motors for the rear wheels for a combined system rating of 377 horsepower.

Though no slouch in the power department, the Sport Hybrid still delivers the expected efficiency, in part thanks to an automatic idle-stop system. Overall, the vehicle delivers a top-class EPA rating of 29/30/29 mpg (city/highway/combined).

Standard features include Acura’s distinctive Jewel Eye LED headlights, 19-inch bright-finished wheels, and next-generation AcuraLink connected car system and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.

The RLX Sport Hybrid also features AcuraWatch, a suite of safety and driver assistive technologies, that includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Blind Spot Information (BSI), and Cross Traffic Monitor. The RLX Sport Hybrid, which also features seven airbags, is targeting a 5-star NCAP Overall Vehicle safety rating, and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
