What’s New for the 2017 Cadillac CT6?

The Cadillac CT6 carries over relatively unchanged for the 2017 model year, with the exception of a few minor updates. First off, the Graphite Black exterior color option will no longer be offered, but two new colors, Bronze Dune Metallic and Phantom Gray Metallic, are available at an extra cost. In addition, a revised version of the CUE infotainment system is said to be quicker to respond than last year’s offering. The updated infotainment system will also be compatible with apps such as The Weather Channel, iHeart Radio, and Pandora. Also, a new “wash” feature is available which will aid the rear camera mirror tech. Lastly, a new plug-in hybrid version of the Cadillac CT6 is scheduled to make its debut later in the year.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Exterior

At a glance, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 does resemble the brand’s mid-size CT6 sedan,  but anybody who’s seen the CT6 up close can spot the obvious differences. Most noticeably, the CT6 is 8.5 inches longer than Cadillac’s mid-size offering. Moreover, the extended hood design hints at the power that lies beneath of the CT6, even though some critics don’t seem to think a 404-horsepower turbo-V6 is enough and want a true V8 instead, but you can find more about this vehicle’s performance on the next tab. Aside from the CT6 sedan’s gigantic front grille and sharp lines across the sides, other visual highlights include standard 18-inch wheels, as well as LED headlamps and taillamps. Exterior color options for the ’17 Cadillac CT6 include Red Passion Tintcoat, Crystal White Tricoat, and Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Performance

There’s no shortage of powertrain options when it comes to Cadillac’s newest flagship sedan. The base CT6 comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that provides 265 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. That motor works with an eight-speed automatic transmission to send power to the rear wheels. Moreover, thanks to the sedan’s lightweight design and a curb weight of just 3,657 pounds, the new Cadillac CT6 equipped with the turbo-four needs just over six seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. For those consumers in need of more power, the CT6 sedan is also available with a naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 rated at 336 and 284 lb-ft of torque, as well as 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that packs 404 horsepower and 400 of torque. With the turbo V6, the ’17 Cadillac CT6 can zip from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. Furthermore, consumers have the choice of either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive when they select their 2017 Cadillac CT6.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Efficiency

Because of its rather large design and Cadillac’s history of producing bulky gas guzzlers, it might surprise some people to find out the 2017 Cadillac CT6 yields EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 30 mpg on the highway. That’s when the sedan is equipped with the four-cylinder engine, of course. However, when equipped with the naturally-aspirated V6 and all-wheel drive, the new Cadillac CT6 still yields decent efficiency of 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. For those consumers who opt for the powerful turbocharged V6, they’ll experience fuel economy of 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Moreover, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 comes standard with a 19.5 gallon fuel tank.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Interior

Without a doubt, car critics from around the web have been quicker to compliment the interior of the Cadillac CT6 more than any other of its impressive features, including the 404-horsepower V6 engine or its advanced safety equipment. So, what exactly makes the inside of the 2017 Cadillac CT6 so popular? Well, for starters, the cabin is generously equipped with standard features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system, but the luxury amenities don’t stop there. The new CT6 also comes standard with an updated CUE infotainment system, which can be operated via a 10.2-inch touchscreen. This revised infotainment system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a navigation system is also available as an added option. In addition, the rear seats are also been said to be quite spacious. Plus, with the Rear Seat package, a rear seat infotainment system can also be added to the CT6. This could come in handy during long family road trips. In terms of cargo space, the trunk of the new CT6 provides 15.3 feet of storage room.
