2016 Mazda CX-3

The smallest of Mazda’s SUV lineup, the CX-3, hit the roads last year at a starting MSRP of $19,960, and selling at $21,960 for the Touring models and $24,990 for the Grand Touring. In addition, the CX-3 came with two packages: a Touring Technology package for $1,410 and an i-ACTIVSENSE safety package for the Grand Touring starting at $1,920.

For 2017, Mazda didn’t want to change the CX-3’s attractive deal too much, so it will be returning at the exact same MSRP of $19,960 for the Sport, $21,960 for the Touring, and $24,990 for the Grand Touring.

However, as awesome as the CX-3 has been, Mazda wanted to add a little something at least. So, first it tweaked the Touring model slightly to include standard 18-inch alloy wheels previously found just on the Grand Touring. Then, they decided to make the highest safety a little more attainable by lowering the cost for the i-ACTIVSENSE Package by $750 to $1,170.

The i-ACTIVSENSE suite of systems are active safety technology, including Radar Cruise Control, automatic Smart City Brake Support, Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Control, automatic on/off headlights, and rain-sensing wipers. Each adds a measure of integrated and automatic safety, up to and including sensing when you are about to hit something (like, possibly, the car in front of you in traffic) and hitting the brakes to avert a collision.

The 2017 CX-3 will be arriving at dealerships in early July.
