Today the 2017 Honda Accord goes on sale at dealerships nationwide, carrying a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $22,355 (excluding taxes, fees, and $835 destination charge). The newest edition of the popular midsize car will be sold in both sedan and coupe variants, and for the 2017 model year, is available in a premium Sport Special Edition trim.

In addition to picking between coupe and sedan, 2017 Honda Accord shoppers will have a variety of choices to make. The many varieties of Accord options are available in different powertrains (2.4-liter four-cylinder or 3.5-liter V6 engine), transmissions (6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic continuously variable transmission), and trim levels (LX, LX-S, Sport, Sport Special Edition, EX, EX-L, or Touring).

The brand-new Accord Sport Special Edition trim features heated leather seats with red stitching and unique “Special Edition” badging. The eco-friendly Accord Hybrid version launched earlier this month, rounding out the 2017 Honda Accord lineup.

“Accord continues to set the bar in its class with customers making it the top retail selling car in America for three years running,” said Honda executive Jeff Conrad. “We’re proud to offer an expanded lineup with the new Sport Special Edition and the 2017 Accord Hybrid as we continue to advance Accord’s position as a true benchmark in its class, offering an unbeatable combination of style, efficiency, fun-to-drive performance and connectivity in the midsize sedan segment.”

Offering few new changes, the 2017 Accord mostly just carries over the upgrades made to the 2016 model, including expanded LED exterior lighting and premium features such as available 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2017 Honda Accord sedan and coupe has received the highest-possible 5-Star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is targeting a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS for models equipped with Honda Sensing safety features.
