The 2017 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards have been announced, with four Honda models picking up top honors in their category. The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, Fit, HR-V, and Ridgeline were all recognized for their resale value.
The awards are given to new models that seem most likely to best retain their value over their first five years of ownership based on the Kelley Blue Book Official Residual Value Guide.
The 2017 Honda Fit was named Best Subcompact Car, with an expected resale value of 46.8% after 36 months and 28.8% after 60 months. KBB praised the hatchback’s versatile cabin, which KBB.com writes “has a knack for fitting copious amounts of stuff within its tidy shell.”
With a resale value of 42.7% at 36 months and 31.7% at 60 months, the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid was the gas-electric model selected as the Best Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car.
“It looks, drives and behaves like every other Accord with the added benefit of boasting the best the fuel economy of them all, which in turn makes it easy on the wallet when it’s time to fill up and delivers outstanding resale value when it’s time to sell,” wrote KBB.com editors.

The 2017 Honda HR-V won its second consecutive Best Resale Value Award (in the Best Subcompact SUV/Crossover category), with a 50.7% resale value at 36 months and 35.7% at 60 months.
“The HR-V may be the smaller, more affordable sibling to the venerable CR-V, but it’s also the roomiest subcompact SUV money can buy, arguably the most refined, and offers the best resale value in the segment,” a review noted.
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline appeared in the Top 10 list, ranking seventh thanks to its 64.4% resale value at 36 months and 47.6% value at 60 months. KBB.com praised the 2017 model for “mixing a more truck-like design with many of the same clever features and appealing qualities that have made it so popular with owners.”
