The 2017 Honda Civic hatchback will debut at the Paris Motor Show

Honda is making things easier than ever before for the Civic model. As the Civic enters its tenth generation, the Japanese carmaker has decided to make one global hatchback model, rather than offering two separate models. Because of this, the European model, which is set to debut later this month at the Paris Motor Show, will look almost exactly like the North American model with only a few tweaks.

While the 2017 Civic hatchback will be produced in Honda’s Swindon, England plant, the United States market will actually see this model first. It will show up on American dealer lots this month, while Europeans won’t get to purchase this next-gen model until January. At the beginning of the model’s launch, the US Civic will only come with one engine option, which is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which gets either 174 or 180 horsepower. The European model will come with two engine options: the 1.5-liter and a diesel option.

The Paris Motor Show won’t only be the site of the 2017 Honda Civic hatchback’s debut, but it will also showcase the European version of the Civic sedan. This model is made in Turkey and will go on sale in early 2017.

Finally, joining the two Civics will be the Jazz Spotlight Edition. This Jazz (known as the Honda Fit hatchback in the US market) is the production version of the Keenlight concept, which debuted at Geneva. It targets fashion-conscious consumers with its stylish bronze accents and intricate decals.
