Honda Clarity Fuel Cell sedan to lease in California

Honda’s hydrogen-fueled Clarity Fuel Cell sedan will carry an introductory lease price of $369 a month for 36 months (plus tax) when it launches in California later this year. Leasing terms for the five-passenger, zero-emissions FCV will include a mileage allowance of 20,000 per year, up to $15,000 of hydrogen fuel, up to 21 days of an Avis Luxury Rental in California, and 24/7 roadside assistance.

Lessees must pay $2,499 plus the first month’s payment at lease signing, in addition to tax, registration, and official fees.

There will be 12 approved fuel cell vehicle dealerships, all of which will be located in California. There will be six dealerships spread throughout Southern California, five in the Bay Area, and one in Sacramento. Honda says it plans to further develop its dealer network as the availability of “consumer friendly” hydrogen fueling stations increases.
