Infiniti was planning on revealing the new 2017 Infiniti Q30 at the International Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but anticipation for this new vehicle was so high that they had pity on us and showed it off early.

The  Infiniti Q30 is a compact hatchback that is a combination of several recent concept cars, such as the QX30 Concept revealed in March at the Geneva Auto Show and the the Infiniti Q30 Concept from 2013. Infiniti is also branding this vehicle as a “Premium Active Compact.”

The Infiniti Q30 has been put through its paces abroad in Europe and it will be built in at a facility in Sunderland, UK. Four countries overall in Europe build Infiniti vehicles with the addition of the United Kingdom. According to Infiniti president Roland Krueger, “The Q30 Active Compact delivers the distinctive design, the driving dynamics and the individuality that our customers expect of an Infiniti vehicle. With our first ever entry in the compact car segment, we continue the product offensive and provide additional options for our discerning customers.”

Unfortunately, the photo and these slim facts are pretty much all we’re going to see for now of the Infiniti Q30. Infiniti is keeping most of the details, such as engine type and release date, under wraps until the upcoming International Frankfurt Motor Show. We anticipate more details on September 15th or 16th, so keep checking back at The News Wheel for the latest!
