2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Named Official Winter Vehicle of New England
The 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, Chrysler Pacifica, and Dodge Charger also earned top honors from the New England Motor Press Association
Tomorrow is the first day of June, which means the summer season is just about to begin. However, that hasn’t stopped one particular FCA vehicle from receiving recognition for its winter-based capabilities.
After all, the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee was just named NEMPA’s Official Winter Vehicle of New England.

NEMPA, short for the New England Motor Press Association, recently held its seventh annual winter vehicle competition. The timing of said competition seems to be a few months off. Regardless, FCA came out on top during the event, with four separate vehicles earning honors from NEMPA.
The top honor, of course, went to the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, as the SUV was named the Official Winter Vehicle of New England. NEMPA credits the Grand Cherokee’s win to its wide range of features designed for driving in nearly any condition.

“The Jeep Grand Cherokee faced tough competition, but ultimately was named NEMPA’s Official Winter Vehicle of New England due to its ability to go anywhere, selection of engine choices and its ‘just-right’ size,” said John Paul, NEMPA’s president. “The Grand Cherokee is no stranger to winning the coveted NEMPA winter vehicle award, having won several times in the past five years.”
Other FCA vehicles to receive honors from NEMPA included the 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, and the 2017 Dodge Charger.
The Cherokee Trailhawk and the Pacifica were each named the best vehicles in their class, compact affordable SUV/Crossover and minivan/people-mover, respectively. Meanwhile, the 2017 Dodge Charger was declared to be the organization’s “Affordable All-wheel-drive Sedan.”
Although these vehicles have earned quite the reputation during winter, they are guaranteed to perform just as well during the dog days of summer.
