2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe to Arrive Next Year
Introducing the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe
We’re only just past the halfway mark of 2015, yet Mercedes is already highlighting its 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe that will be arriving at dealerships in the summer of 2016. The C63 will be offered in its base form and as the S trim; both are incredibly powerful and exceptionally elegant.
The 2017 C63 Coupe will arrive at dealerships next summer
Powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, which is developed in-house by Affalterbach, the base C63 Coupe lays out 469 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. The S model ups the output to 503 hp and a peak torque of 516 lb-ft. The base sprints from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds; the C63 S Coupe gets there in 3.8 seconds. The C63 Coupe’s top speed is 155 mph while the S Coupe can climb to 180.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe isn’t your everyday Mercedes-Benz C-Class model. To show off the power that lurks beneath the hood, Mercedes has redesigned the front end and the rear to look even fiercer. Improvements include flared wheel arches for a wider stance, a longer aluminum hood with two powerdomes, and an arrow-shaped “twin blade” grille. The interior is also marked by increased opulence, with the highest grade materials available; yet, the motorsport heritage of AMG is not forgotten, thanks to specific controls for an improved ride. ARTICO/microfiber DINAMICA sports seats are standard, but drivers can upgrade to Performance seats.

Mercedes has improved engine sound by utilizing an exhaust system with flap technology, but it’s not just the sound of performance that was taken into consideration. Performance altogether was enhanced by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed sport transmission, for a sportier and livelier driving experience. Traction is improved via a mechanical rear-axle limited-slip differential (base model) or an electronic rear-axle limited-slip differential (S model).

That’s why the experts have engineered the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe and S Coupe for optimal safety, with standard features like the ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system, as well as COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, which works to prevent rear-end collisions but unfortunately cannot disable Mercedes’ caps lock.
