2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA Overview
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA is a four-door compact car that features a starting MSRP of $32,400. That MSRP makes it the most affordable new Mercedes that’s currently offered in the United States. For that asking price, consumers will get an eye-catching car that can accelerate from 0 to 60 in less than seven seconds. The Mercedes-Benz CLA also provides strong fuel economy, responsive steering, and is offered with all-wheel drive. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA competes with the Audi A3, Infiniti Q30, and Acura ILX.

2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA Performance
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine rated at 208 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque. This four-banger works with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in order to send power to the front wheels. Mercedes does offer 4MATIC all-wheel drive with the CLA, but that system comes at an additional charge. For increased performance, consumers should consider checking out the 2017 Mercedes-AMG CLA45. This version of the CLA comes equipped with a handcrafted AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder motor that packs 375 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Boasting a curb weight of 3,450 pounds, the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 can rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA Efficiency
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA is currently the most efficient gasoline-powered car that the company offers at US dealerships. The base model equipped with FWD and the 208-horsepower engine yields EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. In contrast, opting for the AWD model with the same engine drops efficiency to 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Moreover, while the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 does provide the most power; that muscle comes at a cost as the AMG model only yields 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Lastly, every 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA comes standard with a 14.8 gallon fuel tank.
2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA Interior
The interior of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA is both stylish and sophisticated as this compact car comes standard with sport seats up front, dual-zone climate control to keep everyone cool, and the driver gets to use a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel to point the car in any direction they choose. Other standard features found inside the CLA include MB-Tex synthetic upholstery, a CD player with MP3 capability, and a rearview camera. Perhaps the only drawback to the CLA is its less-than-spacious rear seats, which are better suited for either small children or simply as extra storage space. Also, while the CLA might seem light on the tech front due to its lower asking price, the company does offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon audio system as available upgrades. Furthermore, there’s 13.1 cubic feet of storage space in the CLA’s trunk.

The Attention Assist system uses sensors to detect the signs of a drowsy driver and then flashes a light to alert the driver that they’re exhibiting sleepy driving behaviors. The Collision Prevention Assist system uses radar technology to detect if anything is in front of the car, and then alerts the driver with both visual and audible alerts if it detects a potential problem.
