2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Overview

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

Mitsubishi might be focusing more on introducing more SUVs and crossovers to its lineup, but that doesn’t mean its sedan models are suffering. The 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer is perfect proof of this. This vehicle comes standard with a 6.1-inch touchscreen and a rearview camera. It also has an available all-wheel drive—something few of other compact sedans offer— that will help you get around town with ease. For a sedan with sporty style, look no further than the 2017 Lancer.

What’s New for the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer

The Mitsubishi Lancer no longer has the GT trim level for the 2017 model year, which means the majority of this old trim’s features are now available in the SE trim. A rearview mirror is now standard on all trims, as is the previously optional 6.1-inch touchscreen.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer is offered in three trim levels: ES, SE, and SEL.

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Silhouette

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Exterior

While the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer isn’t exactly the most stylish model in its segment, it is without a doubt the sportiest. This compact car has sculpted lines that add to its muscular silhouette, while its standard 16-inch alloy wheels and LED Daytime Running Lights add a touch of sophistication. Its silhouette hasn’t changed much since its refresh from last year’s model, but it still is the perfect car for consumers that want an athletic daily driver.

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Driving

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Performance

There are two engine options available on the 2017 Lancer. The first is the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which comes on the base ES level and churns out 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. It sends out power to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT. The second engine option is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which is standard on the SE and SEL and option on the ES. This is only available with the CVT and all-wheel drive. It gives the Lancer a bump of power with 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque.

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Interior

Mitsubishi focuses more on the performance of the Lancer, rather than its interior comfort, so the cabin design is simple and sleek. It is slightly more bare-bones than its competition, but still offers plenty of technology to keep you connected while out on the road. This includes Mitsubishi’s voice activation system called Fuse, which makes it possible to control audio and navigation with your voice. The standard 6.1-inch touchscreen is also a big perk.

When it comes to comfort, the seats are perfect and there is plenty of leg and headroom for adult passengers in the back seat despite the Lancer’s compact size. It has 12.3 cubic-feet of cargo space and 60/40-split rear seatbacks to help provide more storage room.
