The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 transforms the brand’s popular hatchback into a sedan

Mitsubishi is looking to focus on its crossovers and SUVs—but it still wants Americans to love the Mitsubishi Mirage subcompact car. That’s why it comes as no surprise that the Japanese carmaker has introduced a sedan version of the Mirage hatchback, called the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4.

“A few years ago we entered the subcompact segment with the Mirage hatchback and its popularity with consumers has grown every year with its combination of top fuel economy, attractive pricing, and one of the industry’s best new car warranties,” said Don Swearingen, Mitsubishi Motors North America’s executive vice president. “The new Mirage G4 repeats that value equation in a four-door sedan package. The Mirage hatchback and now the Mirage G4 sedan will form a formidable one-two punch in the subcompact segment.”

The G4’s interior is posh and modern

While the Mirage G4, which debuted at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, will have the same powertrain as its hatchback brethren, it will be revised to help provide the sedan with spunky acceleration and top-notch efficiency. Unlike many of the cars that begin as hatchbacks, the G4’s exterior offers a smooth transition from the roofline to the rear end, which makes the sedan look like it was meant to be.

Inside the 2017 Mirage G4 is a variety of available smartphone integrations, which are typically seen in more expensive vehicles. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ both allow you to stay connected—and safe—while out on the road.

But the visible features aren’t the only appealing aspects of this sedan. It also comes equipped with Mitsubishi’s award-winning warranties, including a fully transferable 5-year/60,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty; a 10-year/10,000 mile powertrain limited warranty; a 7-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion perforation limited warranty, and 5-year/unlimited mile roadside assistance.

Despite Mitsubishi’s new focus on SUVs, we still think the Mirage will continue being one of the brand’s most notable models.
