The Hispanic Motor Press has named the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 as the best vehicle in the sub-compact category in its annual Hispanic Motor Press Awards, which for the past seven years have recognized the best overall value automobiles for Hispanic families.

Numerous journalists, content creators, and other “influencers” (according to Mitsubishi) from across the United States make up the panel of jurors that selects the winners of the Autos Del Año awards, based on factors like design, price, comfort, safety, cost of operation, and environmental footprint. Around 250 vehicles were evaluated this year with the objective of finding the best in each automotive category and help steer Latino families as they head into the new car market.

Based on the Mirage hatchback, the Mirage G4 offers excellent fuel economy (33/40 mpg city/highway) as well as increased interior cabin and trunk space thanks to its sedan body style. Despite its very affordable MSRP, it also comes with advanced features like keyless entry and push button start, a 6.5-inch display audio system with Bluetooth hands-free capability, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

“The Mirage G4 keeps value top of mind and offers consumers efficiency, connectivity and reliability along with one of the industry’s leading powertrain warranty at a price that makes sense to buyers shopping for a low priced car,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Mitsubishi Motors North America. “We’re thrilled to see the latest addition to the Mirage family getting this recognition in such a highly competitive segment.”
