2016 Nissan LEAF BadgeIf you have been waiting to buy the 2017 Nissan LEAF, your time has come. Nissan dealerships that are certified to sell Nissan’s advanced EV may now order the vehicle, and it’s pretty breathtaking. That’s not surprising, considering it’s the bestselling 100% electric vehicle worldwide and here in the USA, according to Nissan.

The 2017 Nissan LEAF has a starting MSRP of $30,680 for the base LEAF S model. The second trim level, LEAF SV, starts at $34,200, and the highest trim level, called the LEAF SL, starts at a modest $36,790. Destination and handling charges are $865 for each vehicle.

All three trim levels in 2017 are proud to have best-in-class range, according to EPA estimates, thanks to Nissan offering a 30 kWh battery upgrade that in years past has only been available on the upper trim levels. If you’re thinking about the battery with bigger capacity, rest assured that the battery itself isn’t larger. Instead, the engineers at Nissan designed the 30 kWh to be the same size and packed with revised chemistry and improved materials.

The standard battery can be fully charged at home in six hours, and the 30 kWh batteries can be quick-charged in about 30 minutes to 80% in a pinch. Besides quick charging, Nissan also has a special warranty just for the battery pack that covers eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty covers defects in the battery, as well as an unacceptable loss of battery capacity (which all tech owners fear most).
