The updated Subaru BRZ will wear a $26,315 price tag for the 2017 model year

The Subaru BRZ comes with a slight price increase for the 2017 model year

Back in May, Subaru announced the BRZ sports coupe would come with a more powerful engine and refreshed exterior design for the 2017 model year, but failed to release any pricing details. Now, two months after that announcement, the Japanese automaker has officially declared the 2017 Subaru BRZ will carry a starting MSRP of $26,315.

That $26,315 price tag includes the $820 freight fee and also means the updated BRZ will cost only $100 more than last year’s model, which isn’t a huge increase considering the 2017 version gets a stronger 205-horsepower engine and LED headlights.

The higher-level Limited trim has been priced at $28,465 with the manual transmission and $29,565 for those consumers who opt for the six-speed automatic gearbox. Stepping up to the Limited model will net potential buyers additional equipment such as keyless entry, LED fog lights, and 4.2-inch LCD multifunction display.

Subaru will also be offering a $1,195 Performance package for the 2017 BRZ coupe, which includes 17-inch alloy wheels, Sachs shock absorbers, and high-performance Brembo brakes. This package will only be available for BRZs equipped with manual gearboxes and won’t become available until 2017.

Lastly, Subaru will also be offering a limited edition version of the new BRZ that will be restricted to just 500 units. This special model includes equipment from the Limited trim and Performance package, but also adds an eye-catching yellow paint job, 17-inch black aluminum alloy wheels, and Alcantara leather upholstery with yellow stitching in the seats. This special edition model has been priced at $30,515.

The 2017 Subaru BRZ is scheduled to become available in the United States later this year in September.
