Changes to the Subaru BRZ’s front fascia should make it more aerodynamic for the 2017 model year

Already known as one of the most well-balanced cars on the market, the Subaru BRZ will receive significant updates for the 2017 model year, which are sure to make Subaru fans excited for the refreshed BRZ’s September release.

To start things off, the BRZ’s 2.0-liter flat-4 engine sees a power increase up to 205 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque. This rise in performance was made possible due to a new exhaust manifold, cylinder heads, camshaft, and valves. More performance upgrades come in the form of improved coil springs and dampers. In addition, a bigger rear stabilizer bar has been added to the BRZ.

Significant design changes were also made to the exterior of this Subaru. The front bumper has been refreshed and it’s also wider and lower to the ground. A full LED lighting system has been added to the BRZ, which includes LED fog lights. The rear of the vehicle will come standard with a rear spoiler, while fresh wheel designs add even more flare.

The ’17 BRZ will have a new steering

The cockpit of the Subaru BRZ sees fewer changes, but every new BRZ will now come standard with a new leather-wrapped steering wheel. For higher-level Limited models, the new Subaru BRZwill feature a 4.2-inch LCD multifunction display that will provide the driver with information regarding the vehicle’s lateral Gs, battery voltage, oil and water temperature, as well as an integrated stop watch that can record lap times.

For those people looking to get the very most out of their BRZ, the 2017 model will be offered with a Performance Package that adds exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels, Sachs shock absorbers, and high-performance Brembo brakes. It should be noted this package will only be offered with BRZ’s with the manual transmission and will not be available until 2017.

The performance of the BRZ has been upgraded so much that the company decided to rename the car’s Sport mode to Track mode. It could be assumed that with all of these changes, the 2017 Subaru BRZ will feature a larger price tag than the 2016 model, but Subaru has yet to release official pricing information.
