2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir

If you’re among the dozens or even hundreds who has been hotly anticipating the launch of the 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir since it was announced in late 2017, then you’re gonna be super excited to learn that it won’t set you back all that much more than the LaCrosse Premium.

Automotive News revealed on Friday that the new, high-luxury Avenir trim for the 2018 LaCrosse will carry a $45,795 starting price (including $925 destination charges) when it begins to hit dealerships across the country next month. With All-Wheel Drive with Active Twin Clutch, the 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir will start at $47,995.

The price for the FWD LaCrosse Avenir is said to be just $3,700, or 8.8%, higher than the LaCrosse Premium. Given customer tendencies, it is not unlikely that a vast majority of LaCrosse buyers will bite the bullet and go for the trim whose name is “future” in French.

“Nine out of 10 LaCrosse buyers are choosing one of the top two trim levels—customers are signaling they want more from Buick,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC, when the LaCrosse Avenir was announced in November.

The 2018 Buick LaCrosse is just the second vehicle in the brand’s lineup to receive an Avenir trim, following the 2018 Buick Enclave. Buick is expected to roll out Avenir offerings for additional vehicles over the next few years as it looks to build it up into a brand on the level of GMC’s Denali subline.
