Chevrolet Beat Notchback

A body style that seems to have unfortunately died out in popularity over the years is the notchback; when done right, it provides a car with a distinctive, stylish profile. Chevrolet is keeping the style alive in North America, however, with the launch of the new Chevy Beat Notchback in Mexico.

Does it have a lot of room for junk in the trunk? Oh yeah. It sure does. So the question is: whatcha gonna do with all that junk? All that junk you’re theoretically going to put in your trunk at some point if you wind up driving a 2018 Chevrolet Beat Notchback?

“True to the promise of offering a portfolio of vehicles that fit the diverse tastes and needs of our customers, we decided to integrate the Notchback version of Chevrolet Beat, which had been much sought after by customers who require more space in the trunk and who like the features of this model,” said Erika De Witt, Chevrolet Passenger Marketing Manager. “We are confident that the Chevrolet Beat Notchback will become a major competitor in the small subcompact segment that the brand has highlighted.”

The Chevy Beat Notchback will be offered in three trims: LS, LT, and LTZ. It will come standard with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder mated to a five-speed manual, which generates a modest 81 horsepower and 80 lb-ft of torque.

Because the Beat Notchback is a vehicle of value, it will start as low as around $8,872 USD; because it is still a modern vehicle, it will feature a seven-inch Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen display with smartphone integration for convenience. The highlight, arguably, is its trunk, which has a capacity of 385 L (13.6 cubic feet). Perfect enough for all that junk, all that junk that would go inside your trunk.

The 2018 Chevy Beat Notchback will hit dealers in Mexico by the end of September.
