2018 Chevrolet Equinox Delivers Best August Sales to Date
August saw an 85% increase in 2018 Chevrolet Equinox sales, when compared with last year’s totals for the same month. The brand sold a total of 28,245 units this August, which is the Equinox model’s highest August sales figure to date.
The first eight months of 2017 saw a total overall sales increase of about 17% for this model. This translates to a total of 158,475 units sold.
Considering how its competitors are doing, the Equinox’s sales performance is definitely brag-worthy. It delivered more August sales than the Subaru Outback, Jeep Cherokee, and Ford Escape. It bested the Jeep Compass and the Mazda CX-5. It even beat GMC Terrain sales for the month.
Why the stunning performance figures for the 2018 Equinox model? For one thing, compact crossovers continue to thrive as more consumers feed into this year’s growing trend.

Besides market trends, however, the 2018 Chevy Equinox is a stand-alone model that packs a punch. Each trim level churns out a healthy 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. It also achieves EPA estimates of 26 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined, which is a stellar rating for this segment.
Technology offerings abound in this model. The 2018 Equinox provides exemplary infotainment offerings including SiriusXM radio, Bluetooth® compatibility, and an available Chevrolet MyLink® audio system with eight-inch-diagonal color touch screen.
The new Equinox also delivers cutting-edge safety technology features such as Side Blind Spot Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist. Chevrolet has outfitted this model with these driver assist amenities and more, showing a thoughtful awareness of one of its target consumer groups: small families who desire optimum protection when transporting their children.
No wonder this model is doing so well. We anticipate the 2018 Equinox’s future success as we await the next few months’ sales figures.
