A classic, full-size sedan, the Chevrolet Impala has made a name for itself over the last handful of decades. With storage space, a high-tech interior, and hybrid-rivaling efficiency, the 2018 Chevrolet Impala rolls onto the lineup dressed to impress. The 2018 Chevrolet Impala is available at three trim levels: LS, LT, and Premier.

What’s New for the 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

While the trim levels have remained the same, sticking to last year’s decision to name the top-tier “Premier,” there have been a few changes to the Impala in this year’s lineup. Compared to last year’s model, Chevrolet has made some upgrades. With improved technology features, such as the addition of Remote Start, you can expect a top-of-the-line performance from the 2018 Impala. Chevrolet has also added Daytime Running Lamps to the Impala’s list of standard safety features.

The 2018 Chevrolet Impala’s exterior is sculpted for style and decked out for performance. With standard 18-inch steel wheels as a baseline, the 2018 Impala offers several upgraded wheels including 18-inch painted alloy wheels and 19-inch machined-face aluminum wheels for the ultimate smooth ride. Technology is not just on the inside of the Impala; the Premier offers outside heated power-adjustable, manual-folding, integrated turn signal, driver-side auto-dimming chrome mirrors and High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps.

2018 Chevrolet Impala Performance

The 2018 Chevrolet Impala comes with two engine options across its three trims. At the base level, paired to the standard six-speed automatic transmission, is an ECOTECH^® 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder DI engine. This engine gives off 197 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. Also available at the base level, and the mid-level trim, is a 3.6-liter DOHC V6 DI engine. The 3.6-liter engine comes standard on the range-topping trim, the Premier. The top-of-the-line engine upgrades to 305 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque.

The fuel economy earned on the 2018 Chevrolet Impala varies based on one key factor: the engine. The ECOTECH^® 2.5-liter engine and the 3.6-liter V6 engine are going to yield very different results. To start at the base, the ECOTECH^® 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder DI engine earns an estimated 22/30 MPG* City/Highway. On the upgraded trim, the 3.6-liter DOHC V6 DI engine earns an estimated 19/28 MPG* City/Highway.
