Chevrolet introduced the 2018 Sail to the Ecuadorian market in June, strengthening its lineup offerings in a market that the brand sees as being key to its growth in the future and providing a cutting edge sedan for new and current customers.

“All our actions are aimed at meeting the needs of our customers,” said Luis Enrique Landínez, Commercial Director of GM Andina. “The arrival of this model is a bet of the brand to offer the best option in this segment. Thanks to its innovations, we are sure that the new Sail will become the vehicle of choice for Ecuadorian families.”

Making the 2018 Chevy Sail of even further appeal to customers is a low starting price: the Sail starts at $18,490 USD for the somewhat unfortunately named STD trim, with optional air conditioning bumping that starting price up by $1,000.

The 2018 Chevy Sail is offered with a 1.5-liter engine with variable valve timing, partnering with technologies including hill start assist, electric stability control, and traction control that make it unlike any other standard model in the segment.

On the inside, the Sail is offered with a four-inch screen for radio and infotainment purposes, USB/MP3/AUX capabilities, four speakers, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The 2018 Chevrolet Sail is built at General Motors’s OBB of Ecuador assembly plant. GM OBB of Ecuador recently obtained Build In Quality Level 4 certification, making it one of only four General Motors plants on the planet to achieve that particular honor.
