2018 Chicago Auto Show Photo Gallery: See the Vehicles BMW Had on Display
Nestled between Lincoln and INFINITI in the South Hall of McCormick Place, BMW had practically every car in its lineup on display at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. Classic BMWs like the various numbered Series vehicles were there, but most visitors were excited about the presence of the 2019 BMW i8 Roadster. The plug-in vehicle—placed next to its i3 sibling—was truly shining thanks to its stunning copper exterior with black accents. With a starting price of almost $163,000, some quickly turned to the dark blue i3s with range extender for a more affordable option to fawn over.
Of course, the all-new X2—which made its original debut in Detroit—was sparkling in gold paint and gave show visitors the chance to see BMW’s small crossover offering. Dubbed as a “new breed of car,” the X2 features a conventional roofline, classic BMW exterior styling, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. There has been no mention of pricing just yet, but there should be an announcement closer to its release date in the spring of this year.
