A public service announcement:

TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.

This concludes the public service announcement.

Ford on Tuesday came straight with the heat in revealing that the updated 2018 F-Series Super Duty, thanks to improvements made to the burly 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel engine, is yet again the best truck in its class in all the ways that matter most.

“Super Duty customers expect the best, and for 2018 we’re giving our customers even more power and torque from our 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel—delivering the most horsepower and torque available among all heavy-duty pickups,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager. “Plus, our new F-450 pickup now includes a 4X2 model, enabling our customers to get more done with the segment’s best payload and towing.”

Upgrades made to the 6.7-liter Power Stroke—including redesigned cylinder heads and reoptimized fuel and turbo boost calibrations—increase both horsepower and torque by 10, delivering a best-in-class output of 450 horsepower and 935 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, the new F-450 4×2 increases gooseneck towing by 1,500 pounds to 34,000 pounds—yet another best-in-class number. The Super Duty also offers 21,000 pounds max conventional towing and 7,360 pounds max payload capacity. Are those figures both the best in their class? Yup.

The 2018 Ford Super Duty F-450 4×2 dual-rear-wheel truck will be offered as a Crew Cab and in the XL, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims. Ford has priced the base F-450 XL 4×2 at $52,830, which includes the $1,295 destination and delivery charge.
